Back on track.

So since I've been home I have completely slacked at blogging and journaling of any sort.

But, I have been doing two things: reading and running.

The books I read & my ratings...

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen                                                ***
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen                                                                 ***
The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting                                                      *****
The Sunflower by Richard Paul Evans                                                      *****
Matched by Allie Condie                                                                        ****
Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans                        ****

---I'm four weeks into my training for a half-marathon.  Any other runners out there?  Christmas threw me off a bit with a couple of missed runs and some crappy eating, but I'm back on [the] track!

13.1 Miles on March 3rd: here I come! Then hopefully a full marathon later on in the year :] We'll see.

Which leads to my goals for 2012:
1. Run a half marathon. Possibly a full one as well.
2. Continue reading more often. I forgot how much I love, love, love reading.
3. Pay off the little loan on my car
4. Finish out my last year at ASU strong, hopefully maintaining my high GPA.
5. Travel to at least two different states that I have never been to before...  Shouldn't be challenging. I can count the number of states I've been to on one hand :)

Keeping it simple this year.

Sometimes simplicity seems like a more lofty goal in a way because then there is more pressure to ensure I really do follow through with the five goals I have set.  Let's do this: 2012 here we come!

Oh man, I have such a passion for reading also. I'm an avid reader during break. I agree with your rating of Matched. And thanks for the other titles! I'll have to look them up.

Happy reading and running!

Looks like you had a great Christmas :)

I need to get back to running!
Hopefully 2012 will be the year I start running again!

I'm going to run a 1/2 in the fall. I'm nervous because the longest race I've ran is a 5k...but I'm sure it's super hard yet very rewarding at the end! Be sure to write about your training experience so I know what's to come!

I'm thinking about running a 5K in the beginning of next month for the first time. I run every day and walk too...a total of three miles. Do you have any tips for me for the 5K? I'm guessing you've run in one before...what was your time and the winner's time? (you prolly won it!)

There is no way I could ever run a marathon (or even half one) so good on you!! Happy New Year :)

I love your goals! And how cool to be training for a half marathon. You've got me feeling all inspired!

Although I haven't been running as much the past year, I guess I would call myself a "runner". I LOVE to run! One word of advice- do not over do it! Take it from me, someone who did. Now I have permanent shin splints and will probably never be able to run as much as I would really love to. Make sure to take days off and incorporate strength training! That is, honestly, the best advice I can give! Oh, and make sure to just have fun :)
