long overdue!

So I went home this past weekend and it was great :) Well, it didn't start out so great. I got home Thursday night and was throwing up at three in the morning, yuucky. But I did enjoy getting to see who I could after I finally started feeling better!

Welcome to my 10 year-old brother's room :]

My 14 year-old brother's hand is HUGE compared to mine...weird. Stop growing up!

Got to help me sis get ready for the Homecoming dance! Good timing :)

Her friend's cute waterfall braid! On my list of things to learn. So pretty!

My sis's AWESOME sparkly shoes. I want soooome!

A joke picture for my pops...

Fav! I love this one of her :) She's so stinking cute.

My little brother decided to try on Casie's shoes... not much has changed!

Casie & her date Tyler :]

My best friend Aubree's cute baby boy Brigham! Growing up wayyy too fast already.

Look at those eyes and eyelashes!

Loves his mama.

Always so animated :)

:)

My little brother Rylan's favorite place to eat..In & Out! Yuuuum.

My favorites! Rylan & the cute baby I used to nanny! Except she is 18 mo. today, not so much of a baby anymore. CRAZY!

Other cute girl I used to watch all of the time :)

Those eyes!

Four cutest kids, ever. Miss them!

& The oldest girl made me these cute pictures. Already miss that family!

Even after being sick, it was well worth the trip home! Now I've just got to get back into the swing of things with work and school. It's harder than last time though! Do you get Senioritis in college too? Because I'm pretty sure I've got it bad.

Oh! I also went shopping when I was home. FINALLY. I'll have to post some of my finds later... Yay for new clothes :)

already august!

+My new home for the next year! aka Crestwood. Move in date is August 19. Can't believe I've already been up here for six weeks & that I move out of the Villa in three. Time flies! Aaaand school starts in 16 days. Haven't decided how I feel about that yet. All I know is that I am going to be SUPER busy, which is good. As long as I don't get tooo busy.

+Casie was up here for EFY last week & I loved it! Gotta love little sisters. We went to a free jazz concert with my ward and it decided to rain! It's been doing that a lot lately up here. Hence the blankets used for cover :)

--------------------------------

+So I went the last four years without giving a talk. Two of them in my previous singles ward & I was never asked to speak in church. Less than two months in this ward and I got asked to talk. I spoke on Sunday and I don't really mind speaking in church, I just feel like I never have a whole lot to offer teaching wise. I like when I am teaching and people can comment and interact throughout it. It went smoothly, but I am glad it's over! Get to enjoy the first hour of church more when I am not sitting in the front. :) Here is the closing of my talk so you get an idea without me posting the whole shebang.

"I know that my family brings me so much joy in this life, and I cannot fathom the next one without them. I believe that it is through Christ that we can one day have eternal life and work towards exaltation. I know that faith, hope, and charity are intertwined and we must work at each one in order to become more like our Savior. It is my hope that we continue in faith, hope for the best, and be charitable towards others along the way. We cannot give up. It is up to us to remain positive throughout this stage of life and press forward with hope, leaving doubt and despair behind. It is up to us and us alone to rely on our Savior and Redeemer, the Hope of Israel. I know that if we anchor our desires in righteousness and trust in the Lord, he will always be there to lift us up when we need him. "

double time!

Job #2:

+Got the 2nd interview and then the job :]

+Arizona was great!

+These two are the cutest together. She remembered him even after not seeing him for a couple of months.
+I forgot how hot Arizona can be, but it was SO good getting to see my family and friends.

+Aub's cute little Brigham:

+Who knew Maverik had such good frozen yogurt? PLUS it's $1.69 (w/ tax) for as much as you can put in the cup. Not bad, eh?

provo, provo, provo.

"You are here now exactly because you are supposed to be".

+...that quote is something Sherri Dew said in a fireside she spoke at last Sunday, which was AWESOME by the way. I know she wasn't directing this at me, but it sure felt like it. I've already learned so much about myself here. I'll pretend that quote was just for me ;)

+I wish I could remember all of the awfully awkward, yet somewhat funny things that keep happening to me up here in Provo. One off of the top of my head that I can remember was when I was at Smith's the other day. I was with a friend buying a pregnancy test (for HER, not me). Don't worry, she is married :) I know you're thinking it. Anyways, she grabbed one and we were going through the self-checkout & rang it up, but it was pricier than she thought it had said. So she informs me that she'll be right back and runs to double check the price. She leaves me standing there, looking like I can't figure out how to buy the dang thing. A line started to form and so I thought I'd be smart and void the awesome pregnancy test inconspicuously and jet out of there. Much to my demise, it alerted a worker that I had tried to cancel my purchase and so I was asked if I needed any help. I said no thanks, I had changed my mind and walked away quickly.

+I got a flat tire today, awesome huh? JUST put new tires on my car the week before I moved up here. Bummer. Thank goodness some awesome boys from my ward were there to save me so I could get to work on time. :)

+I got a call about an interview for 24-hour fitness and I think I'm going to go. It is a group interview on Friday at noon. I don't have to work at Yogurtland until 7, so I figure I may as well go for it and see if I'd even get the job! I'll keep you posted.

Oh Mona,

[Mona, Utah]
[quading]

I'm going to miss these two! So lucky to have met them & nanny Lydia.

+Today was my last day of training at YOGURTLAND. I'm still not sick of fro yo. I don't know if it's possible.
I had a few completely embarrassing moments while at the register. I kept saying things like "Did you find everything alright today?" because I got so used to working at Tilly's. I got a couple of funny looks but it wasn't too bad. I got much better by the end of the night. Love my job!

happy day!

+Utah really is so pretty! We hiked Stewart Falls the other day and it was probably my favorite hike I have ever been on. Look it up, it is GORGEOUS. The waterfall is amazing.

+There was a free concert on top of a parking garage last weekend. A band covered all of The Beatles' Album, Abbey Road, and it was AMAZING. I love The Beatles, but whether you do or not, it was still a great show! :] I also actually got a box of two free Modbe camis. They threw out some to random people in the crowd, and I was definitely psyched, until I sadly noticed the XL sticker on the side of the box... bummer :(

+Today has been a GREAT day! I got the cutest little visitor from home...

+She made my day by remembering me and I loved getting to spend time with her and her family!

+If you are ever SUPER bored or extremely tired this may be entertaining to you...It was for my sis, her pal LAUREN, & I at the time at least.

+And finally...
A video of the cute Lydia for my little brother. 'Twas his request for me:)

No longer unemployed!

Yes, that is my new job!
Yes, I am glad that I have a job.
& yes, it is good for me because I love frozen yogurt: way more than the average human being. {{fact}}

+I met both of the co-owners and they agreed to hire me right then & there. Quite the relief because both times I went in previously to ask if they were hiring and to bring in a resume, they told me that they had a huge amount of applicants at that store. Time to celebrate! Probably with some fro yo.. :] I start training next week. Woo!

UTAH is beautiful. The weather is amazing, even a tad chilly for an Arizona native. I'm living in University Villa for the Summer term and am still deciding where I want to live for the fall/winter semester. Here is a couple pictures of mi cuarto:

+Job hunting is going to be the death of me! 95% of the places I went into were not hiring, but of course they were still 'accepting applications'. Anyone who has ever worked a day in there life knows they really mean "no", but they have to say that or just feel bad for you. My two most promising jobs are currently Olive Garden and Yogurtland. I'd like to work at both, but if I could just get one that would be GREAT.

+Good news! Found a place that sells my Neurosonic drink :] YoZone sells them and it's like two blocks from my apartment. Looks like their website did not know the people of Provo, Utah aren't as behind as always assumed.

...Usually however, they are. Keep me updated with music people of Arizona pleeeaase :] Songs that were on the radio a month ago still haven't hit the stations here.

+I still haven't brought myself to change the clock in my car. It's the last bit of Arizona I have left! It doesn't get dark until past nine here so that is still going to take some getting used to. And I miss my bed, but I do not miss the 115 degree weather. Not one little bit!

Some pictures of my family and I in Sedona from the trip right before I left to Utah!

-father's day-

-big little brother-

-best cousins and siblings everrr-

{Love & miss them}

Little bit of everything,

"Dear Kylee Patterson,

It is a pleasure to inform you that you have made the Dean's List of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for Spring semester 2011.

In recognition of your accomplishment, a Dean's List certificate suitable for framing is available at https://webapp4.asu.edu/deanslist/?acadProg=UGLA&term=2111

Note: The link above will provide a document in PDF format. You will need to have PDF viewing software installed (such as Adobe Reader on Windows) to successfully open and view the document.

Sincerely,

Quentin D. Wheeler, Ph.D.
Vice President and Dean"

I get to print out my own certificate and everything, awwwesome. It's even suitable for framing :]

So I'm in love...

I'm going to miss those three! {Lydia. Brigham. Jade} I've nannied Lydia for over a year, Jade for just a couple of short months and Brigham is Aubree's little one who is one week old as of yesterday! I went to visit her and he is so adorable and tiny. TEENY. What's the difference between tiny and teeny? I think I usually say teeny when i'm using it in the extreme form of tiny, but who knows?

I'm going to Sedona in a week with my Mom's side of the family & I'm excited that I'll be able to spend more time with them before I hit the road! I'm ready to relax and lay out in the sunshine.
+ I'm psyched about stopping at the outlet mall in Anthem on the way up there as well :) Last time I scored a cute pare of J.CREW shorts for a whopping $8 & a cute dress as well. I've been drooling over their summer line and am hoping to find some good stuff :] J.CREW & the Loft just about kill me. Seriously though, LOOK at this stuff. Here are some of my favorites...

& I'll leave you with this room. I think my favorite part is just the gray, orange, and yellow color scheme.
