just runnin' around.

The other day one of the little boys I babysit asked me:

"Kylee, why is there a ring on your foot?  ... Why is there a ring on both of your foots?"

The way kids talk never gets old.

Running is funny. I never know from one day to the next how my runs are going to go until I am actually out there pounding the pavement.

Monday: was sick all weekend and this was the first one after feeling up to it, somewhat.  Worst three miles of my life! K maybe not that bad, but I did have to stop and walk a lot which was really disappointing.

Tuesday: Went from a 10-something mile pace for three miles down to 8:56. One minute down! More to go. Or at least chip away at it :)

Wednesday: Day off

Thursday (today):  Five miles of pure bliss! Okay maybe that's exaggerating a bit, but really it felt great! Ran at a 9:30 minute pace.  Gotta get that down.

Friday is another day off and Saturday brings a six mile run.

I've learned that the art of running can be completely mental.  Anyone else feel this way? The easiest running days for me are when my head is in it. Even if my body is struggling and my legs feel really heavy, as long as my head is in it I always pull through.

Maybe that's just how things in general are. As long as my head is in it, I always pull through.

And now all I can think about is that High School Musical song "Gotta get your head in the game". Lame, I know. But now I bet you're singing it in your head :)

Random side note: Last night sleep decided to not come easily for me. I honestly thought that I never fell asleep the whopping four hours that I was laying in bed.  But then to my surprise, I remembered part of a dream I had. I got up out of bed saying "I had a dream!" excited that I did actually sleep a bit.  Then I started singing "I got a dream, I've got some dreams..." Picture the old, creepy cupid guy from Tangled and you'll know what part I'm talking about. If not, here is the clip.

So it's been a while...

Things have been super busy here in Gilbert, Arizona! But here are some pictures for now...  Took these yesterday of the cutest kids in the world that I babysit for quite often.

Another post soon!

Beaver & the smolder

A quick one liner from the five-year-old i babysit when I picked him up from preschool the other day...

"Kylee, Justin Beaver is such a good singer."
I thought the beaver part was so funny and cute I may have had him repeat it a few times. :)

The next day I was eating breakfast with him and he asked how old I was.  I told him I was twenty.

"Pretty old right?"

"Eh, not as old as my grammy! Or my uncle. He is 52."

---

Later he went to the bathroom, only to find his older brother was already occupying it.

"Don't make me hold my potty longer!"

Aren't kids just the cutest?

Bragging moment:
School is OUT. Took my last final today & aced it!
All in all I got two A+'s this semester and three A's.
Not bad. Not bad at all.

One year left ASU!

i'm a road

Alright guys, if I were to get fat off of one thing and one thing alone.. I'd probably have to say I'd

choose this stuff right here...

Since that is not necessarily on my to-do this, I found THIS amazing recipe. Healthy nutella. Is that

even possible? I guess it's definitely worth a try!

I was a ROAD for my work party with the girls at 24. Make note of the clever 'speed bump'. :)

Best line from work the other day at kid's club? "Teacher it smells like poop in here. And I'm thinking it was probably the baby."
Kids are so brutally honest.  My coworker was told she looks like a potato.  Another kid assured her "You don't look like a potato, just a couch potato."  Thanks??

I was going to Walgreens to get tape the other day for my very last minute road costume and was talking on the phone to my supervisor for ideas. I unknowingly walked right into a cloud of smoke and I'm sure my reaction was priceless. I was assured of how true that was when the worker ringing me up at the end thanked me for being his entertainment for the night.
Thank you random smoke machine; next time I'll be prepared.
